A domain connection links your OVHcloud domain to your Squarespace site while keeping it registered with OVHcloud. Here's how to set it up properly:
Prerequisites
- Ensure your domain meets Squarespace's external domain requirements
- Consider transferring instead of connecting if eligible
Step-by-Step Connection Process:
- Start in Squarespace
- Go to Domains panel > Use a domain I own
- Enter your domain name
- Click Link domain
- Select "Other" from the dropdown
- Keep the DNS Settings panel open for reference
- Access OVH Settings
- Login to OVH account
- Navigate to Web Cloud
- Select your domain under Domains section
- Click DNS zone > Add an entry
- Add First CNAME Record
- Copy the unique verification code from Squarespace
- Create new CNAME record
- Subdomain: www
- Target: verify.squarespace.com.
- Add Second CNAME Record
- Create another CNAME record
- Subdomain: www
